‘ŻNIWA’ IS A MARRIAGE OF TWO LOVE-BOUND ELEMENTS – SKJERE X RAIDO. MUSIC IS OUR LIFE AND GREATEST PASSION! WE HAVE LIVED, PLAYED AND PERFORMED TOGETHER SINCE 2018.
Żniwa band is a duo of married multiinstrumentalists Raido and Skjere, playing lively pagan-folk inspired by historical music, folklore and fantasy. They create their own arrangements for well-known pieces (Slavic, Nordic, Celtic, Balkan, Irish, Viking and more…) and constantly compose original songs. Żniwa use acoustic instruments that sound great both on stage, amplified, and unplugged – e.g. in the middle of the forest. It’s the music meant to evoke the deepest emotion, provoking wild dances as well as nostalgia.
We love the natural sound of acoustic instruments and we do not limit ourselves to a specific epoque or region of origin when selecting them. In our music, we use a romantic lute, a five-stringed violin, a whole quiver of various flutes, a Celtic harp, tagelharpa, didgeridoo, cajon, two voices and, above all, the spirit of pagan music!
Since the beginning, Żniwa has been performing on many smaller and bigger events (e.g. historical reenactments, music festivals, fantasy conventions, LARPs etc.) in Poland and abroad.
We also like to time-travel to the Baroque period! Then, we put down the cajon, put on fancy clothing and accompany the La Danse group in their sophisticated choreographies.
